Wings Across America 2008 (WAA-08) is a group of model airplane enthusiasts that are flying a battery powered Radio-Controlled aircraft in all 48 contiguous United States with hopes to make all 50, if Alaska and Hawaii can be reached.  Danny Page is one of the local pilots participating in this endeavor to promote the hobby nationwide.

The electric powered RC airplane called a SQuiRT ( Simple Quiet Robust Trainer), has been flown in 31 states and next it will be in Oregon and Washington, then onto Idaho, the upper Midwestern States, the Midwest and then down South returning back to the starting point in Eastern Virginia and to Frank Geisler, who launched the initial flight on May 28, 2008.

The SQuiRT is about a dozen pilots away from its journey through the Tri-Cities.  MAA member Danny Page is one of the project's official pilots.  He and his father have been waiting for their turn with the SQuiRt since they signed up in August of 2009.  At the age of 14 he is nowhere close to the youngest pilot to fly SQuiRT.  The youngest was 7 years old!  Once SQuiRT has had it's official flight in the Tri-Cities -- probably sometime in December -- it will move on to Spokane.
