Richthofen visits Ron Page....

Ron Page has been working on this Glen Torrance 1/4 scale Fokker DR1 since Feb 2010.  As you can see the 71 inch wing span beauty is more than 1/2 as tall as its 57" fuselage is long.
Like other GTM models, this is no ARF -- having over 1200 pieces in the basic configuration.  Many parts must be fabricated by the builder -- so that no two of these models will be alike.  Ron has also found places where things just didn't fit quite right, so modification had to be made.  He uses photos and a small DR1 model for reference.  This kit is historically accurate, utilizing factory drawings to maintain original outlines and building techinques including scale hinges, and functional cowling.  The recommended engine is a Saito 1.80 or Zehoah G-26 -- but Ron plans to impress even Richthofen as he opts for a different power plant.  If you know Ron very well, you can probably guess what's up his sleeve, but we'll wait a few months before unveiling the power plant for this beauty.
